Repair work on a Rubber Tyre Gantry Crane.
Recently, a crane operating at the Durban Ports/Harbour Container Terminal One broke a critical component that anchors a wire rope cable to the crane. The wire rope is attached to a spreader that lifts containers of the vessel/Hauler and/or stack. Not only was the cable anchor completely snapped from its location but also the anchor pins were corroded and damaged. Using correct SOP’s various other cranes together with skilled labour, the trim carriage was removed, refurbished and replaced in under a week. Ops was back and the crane went on to load on average of 250 containers a day.
Local Manufacturing
With our growing database of customers enquiring on custom made generators, we have affiliated ourselves with an extremely, well known and dedicated supplier that produces a locally build generator. Not only is the product built by South African hands, it creates much locally materials, technical understanding and development as well. We have secured certification to sell, install, commission for major OEM (Cummins, Scania, Volvo and Perkins) through the affiliation and to assess warrantable claims. Together with the sale is a 1 year service level agreement to monitor and maintain the units. We have now sold 8 units that will be built by our affiliation by year end 2020.
Marine Services and General
Auxiliary and Main Propulsion drives on vessels national and international customers. Uncoupling, out rigging, dissembling, assessing condition for either repair or replacing, assembling, dyno testing, in rigging, coupling and sea trials before voyage. Partnering with a Marine and General service provider, we have assisted in supplying of quality genuine parts for Vessels docked at Durban harbour. Supplies to cargo carriers, fishing trawlers, bulk terminal carriers, container transporters, Auto carriers and diversified specialized vessel.
Tools Investment
Whilst we pride ourselves in what we do and how we do it, capital expense of R500 000 was granted for special service tools for our vehicles and technicians. Using the correct tooling with skill workmanship, we are able to produce accurate results to correctly apply the most economic and suitable generator, backup and renewable energy systems. Tooling such as this Power Analyzer, Thermal Imaging Guns, Heat monitors, Mega testers, Clamp Meters, Power Hydraulic Crimpers, Snap On Spanners and Rackets Sets and special service vehicles were deemed as critical capital expense and approve for outright buy.
Emergency Standby Generator
Repairs was completed to an E.S.P that never ran successfully without tripping during its life time. O.E.M parts were used to restore the unit were fitted by skilled Techs. This unit supplies the main Wearhouse departments IT structure, offices, operating system, mobile machine chargers and conveyers with Emergency Power. This unit was put to its test recently when a cable was damaged by construction. Technicians worked around the clock to establish power. This genset was fueled to capacity and ran throughout the power outage. Customer was happy to complete the rest of units and sign a full S.L.A. We have an enquiry to supply, install and commission a new site for 8 more units.
Workshop
Located at Unit 47 Micropark Complex, 26 Crassula Road, Cornubia Industrial Park, Blackburn. We have acquired a workshop to warehouse OEM parts and repair most generators, portside equipment and industrial machinery. The unit has easy access but fairly secure entry. Visitors are required to make an appointment prior arrival to have vehicles logged and accessed into area. The workshop also covers a wide storage area for OEM parts ranging from bearings to control modules.
